I went to the animal fair
The birds and the beasts were there
The big baboon by the light of the moon
Was combing his Auburn hair.
You ought to have seen the monk.
He climbed up the elephants trunk.
The elephant sneezed and

What the closest over counter drug to adderall does my brain is that it keeps my concentration high!"
"You might want to try more than a few doses when you start"
"It's going to get harder and not use the product every day"
On that note, the company website does give instructions on how and where to safely use the product -- but they are presented without any of the disclaimers which accompany many claims made on the manufacturer's website. And they are presented in a way which leaves little doubt that the product's claimed effects come from its use. There are no indications that this product has positive or negative side effects.
This all comes on the heels of recent announcement by a US Senate committee that it is conducting an investigation into drug advertising (yes, you read that Is levofloxacin over the counter correctly: the US Senate committee investigating drugs in schools are doing this too). The report found that government regulator did not do enough to ensure that schools were receiving accurate, reliable information when it was providing to parent organisations.
The results of this investigation have also been posted online for everyone to view -- and it is a mess. The report concludes:
"At a minimum, the Federal Trade Commission should ensure that the materials used to advertise products in schools adequately disclose the potential for drug and other health risks. Failure to conduct timely and thorough investigations of complaints drug or other health hazards may prevent parents, schools and consumers from fully evaluating the risks and benefits of products in question."
This statement was issued while it in consultation with the Drug Advertising Review Team -- which the Senate committee has now disbanded.
Perhaps we will be paying the price for UK (or even the rest of UK) having been asleep at the wheel on topic of education reform. But I suspect it is unlikely to be the only place where this happening.
It would be nice to say that I have all the good information of this particular topic, but my only knowledge comes from people who have made their way down a highly secretive rabbit hole when it comes to pharmaceuticals. In general the "experts" seem to know little about the subject beyond fact they have never had to deal with any of the products involved and that there is nothing to be gained from asking.
If I had to describe exactly what I think the issues are with UK's overreach and lax security in relation to pharmaceuticals I don't really want to -- because my experience of the situation is more a general observation.
Like any other industry it is possible for the industry to go great lengths avoid scrutiny. And yet, the pharmaceuticals industry is a huge enterprise: the UK has 1,094 pharmaceutical plants, producing around 6.6 million tonnes of value-added in tax.
There are certainly companies out who have no compunctions whatsoever about lying to doctors.
It seems that there may be more lying (and at what level of scale) going on in regards to medication than most people realize.
To be honest, I don't believe this industry is any better than other. I remember the whole "adverse event" cover-up of a pharmaceutical I used in university. When spoke up after that, I was quickly followed up by a number of friends and colleagues, all saying "see, he was just trying to help" when they had clearly known very well about the problem for months and years (even if they had given him just a vague, 'I don't know') and were just afraid of being ostracized out a "loyalist club" of colleagues by having someone they did know question his integrity (something that did almost never happen) and potentially being sued by the "informational company" which had put so much confidence into their products.
My point is that many companies have become increasingly reliant upon "experts" with no problem lying outright in order to secure lucrative, government contracts.
And in doing that, of course there is more that can be said.
But I think we are going to be stuck in a situation where the best information isn't reaching us: many of the companies and individuals being investigated for potential malpractice are those we know who either directly associated with the UK National Medicines Organisation, or have access to this information and can provide it to us directly, and there isn't a lot of transparency to go on with what goes these individuals and companies.
If I think about drug use like this, it has many implications. How safe is medication? it okay to give kids? How can I know what dose is best for you and your child, what is in such, and that dosage really good for you? We need more facts. This is especially so with medicines which are given offlabel to non-sick individuals. If patients are given higher dosages for a longer period of time, and they report adverse clinical reactions at higher rates, who is fault and what can we do about.
